2024 Wimbledon preview

In the men’s draw, world No 1 Jannik Sinner is the top seed at a Grand Slam for the first time, with the Italian a marginal favourite to win a second major title of the season.

Novak Djokovic has made a miraculous return from his French Open injury setback and the seven-time champion is also a leading contender for the title, as is world No 3 and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.

The women’s draw is headlined by world No 1 Iga Swiatek, looking for her first title at the All England Club.

Swiatek is a four-time French Open champion and won the US Open in 2022, though has never made it past the last eight of Wimbledon.

Among those looking to challenge her are world No 2 and second seed Coco Gauff, and world No 3 and bookmaker’s favourite Aryna Sabalenka – though she is an injury doubt.

2022 champion Elena Rybakina will also be a contender, with the likes of Jessica Pegula also hoping to threaten.
