DWAYNE JOHNSON SINGS “MOANA”’S 'YOU'RE WELCOME' FOR 4-YEAR-OLD'S MAKE-A-WISH REQUEST

"Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of making your Make-A-Wish come true."

When he’s not lost at sea with Moana, Maui is making dreams come true.

Dwayne Johnson, who voiced the shapeshifting demigod in the 2016 Disney film, isn’t just reprising the role for the upcoming sequel, Moana 2 — he recently revisited the voice for one special little girl.

On Sunday, Johnson took to Instagram with a video to fulfill a time-sensitive request from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“I received a request that I need to share with you guys,” Johnson told the camera. “The sharing of this request is in the spirit of Make-A-Wish, which is a foundation that I hold near and dear to my heart.”

He continued, “This is a special Make-A-Wish request and it’s called a rush wish. And a rush wish means, what the implication sounds like, which is time is just not on our side.”

Johnson then shared that the wish was for a four-year-old girl, Lily, who is currently on home hospice.

He explained, "She watches Moana everyday all day, her dad said, and her wish is to have Dwayne Johnson sing ‘You’re Welcome’ to her and have it recorded so she can listen to it over and over and over.”

The former wrestler then reveals that he is sitting at a piano but jokes, "I actually stink at piano” and instead plays a recording of the Lin-Manuel Miranda-penned song, which he sings along to.

Following his performance, Johnson directly addresses Lily.

“Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of making your Make-a-Wish come true,” he said. “That was me singing ‘You’re Welcome’ in probably a few keys that don’t exist. I hope you enjoyed it and Lily, you are so special.”

He echoed this sentiment in his video caption and urged followers to send Lily “all the positive vibes and beautiful MANA she deserves and needs right now.”

Johnson will next revisit Maui’s mantle in the highly anticipated sequel Moana 2, when he reunites with Auli'i Cravalho’s now-older Moana to reconnect her people "across the entire ocean. The film is set to hit theaters Nov. 27.

Disney is also still currently developing a live-action reimagining of Moana, with Johnson and Catherine Laga‘aia set to star.
