KATHERINE JENKINS REVEALS THE SECRET TO A HAPPY MARRIAGE AND KEEPING SPARK ALIVE

Katherine Jenkins has opened up about the secret to her successful marriage, revealing it's all about keeping the spark alive by being her "husband's girlfriend".

The 44 year old classical singer, who has been blissfully wed to Andrew Levitas for ten years, shared that she treasures advice from an older couple to keep the "fun" and flirtation going strong in their union.

Chatting with HELLO! magazine, Katherine disclosed: "We have friends, an older couple, who are happily married, and I often ask them for advice."

She recalled one piece of wisdom that particularly resonated with her: "I remember him saying to me once, 'Make sure you're always your husband's girlfriend meaning be that fun person, go out on dates. That doesn't have to stop just because you're married. You still need to flirt and spend time together and that always stuck with me."

The beloved soprano also touched on her children's musical talents, suggesting that while both Aaliyah, eight, and six year old Xander love music, it might be Xander who follows in her operatic footsteps. Describing her daughter's zest, she said: "[Aaliyah] is sassy and courageous with a great sense of adventure and the performer gene. She does musical theatre and has joined the school choir. It makes me smile."

She added, "Even if she never does anything with it, I see her with the buzz I used to have, that excitement from singing with people. I'm so happy she's found that." As for her son, Katherine mused: "[Xander] is the one who might end up singing one day." She observed, "He's got a very similar tone to the one I had when I was his age and I can tell he likes music. He's cautious and kind and funny and reminds me of my dad."

However, the opera star insists she won't be pushing her children into a career in music. She expressed: "I want my children to decide what's in their heart and if they decide that's what they want to do, I'll support and help them. But I don't want them to feel any pressure. I want them to be able to love music and have that as a tool in their life because it's something they enjoy. If anything else comes from it, that's a bonus."
