JAMIE FOXX 'TOOK A PILL AND WOKE UP 20 DAYS LATER' AS HE GIVES BOMBSHELL ACCOUNT OF HOSPITALISATION

American actor Jamie Foxx has detailed his hospitalisation last year, admitting that he doesn't "remember anything" after taking a pill and waking up 20 days later.

The Horrible Bosses star, 56, was hospitalised in April 2023 after experiencing what was referred to by his daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, as a "medical complication". He later spent time in a physical rehab centre and has spoken about his health on a few occasions. However, in a new bombshell report of the incident, Jamie has finally shared more details of the terrifying ordeal.

He has further discussed the situation whilst speaking to a crowd in downtown Phoenix in the US. Footage was shared by the outlet the Art Of Dialogue on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday. In the video, Jamie opens up about being hospitalised, admitting that he was "gone" for 20 days after taking a pill to ease the pain of a "bad headache".

"I had a bad headache. Asked my boy for an Advil." Jamie then snapped his fingers before telling the crowd: "I was gone for 20 days. I don't remember anything. So they told me... I'm in Atlanta... they told me... my sister and daughter took me to the first doctor. [They] gave me a cortisone shot."

Before pointing at his head, he said: "Next doctor said '[there's] something going on up there'." Jamie added: "I won't say it on camera. Yeah, I don't want to say it on camera." It's not the first time that Jamie - known for acclaimed films like Ray (2004) - has addressed his experience.

He also shared a video message with his fans on Instagram in July last year, in which he dismissed some speculation about his health. The actor s aid at the time that he hadn't shared an update prior because he didn't want fans to see him "with tubes running out of [him] and trying to figure out if [he] was gonna make it through".

He also said his family "didn't let nothing out" either but added that it meant people speculated. He denied speculation about him being paralysed as he said in the clip: "By being quiet, sometimes things get out of hand. People saying what I got. Some people said I was blind, but as you can see, uh, but as you can see the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine. They said I was paralysed, I'm not paralysed."

The actor added at the time that it had been an incredibly tough period for him. He admitted that he was "very sick" but was grateful to still be here. "But I did go through ... I went to hell and back. And my road to recovery had some potholes as well but I'm coming back." Jamie also expressed gratitude for the support of his fans and said: "If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it's just because it's been tough, man. I was sick."
