Iconic dresses from the past revisited by celebrities
Kaia Gerber honored her mother, Cindy Crawford, in a significant way. From billions to broke: Wealthy people who lost it all
Sam Bankman-Fried, the fallen “Crypto King,” has been found guilty on all charges of financial fraud after a four weeks at trial. The 31-year-old was the founder of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange company created in 2019 that became a multi-billion-dollar empire, but crumbled within three years. The prosecution accused Bankman-Fried of funneling billions from FTX into his other company, Alameda Research. They claim that the tech entrepreneur used Alameda like his own personal bank account, dipping in to buy luxury properties for his inner circle, finance risky investments, and make massive political donations. When an article was published suggesting that Alameda wasn’t financially stable, FTX’s users began withdrawing their funds en masse. FTX and Alameda went bankrupt and Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas. Following his extradition back to the US, he was charged with a host of crimes including wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering. At trial, his lawyers told the jury that he was just a “math nerd” who got in over his head and made some mistakes. The prosecution argued that he was a criminal mastermind who “perpetrated one of the biggest financial frauds in American history – a multibillion-dollar scheme designed to make him the King of Crypto.” The jury found him guilty on all counts and he could potentially face decades in prison. Sam Bankman-Fried appealed the fraud conviction and requested a new trial. It’s estimated that his net worth went from US$26 billion to zero within a matter of months. Musicians who stopped Trump from using their tunes
Few presidents have polarized the world like former president Donald Trump. Once the world's most powerful man, Trump has always been a controversial figure. At his rallies, Trump has played some of the most iconic music ever, much to the dismay of many iconic musicians who don't support his policies or rhetoric one bit. With his 2016, 2020, and now 2024 campaign, he continues to run into the same problem. In February 2024, Trump held a campaign rally in Maryland during which the famous Sinéad O'Connor song 'Nothing Compares 2 U' was played. Shortly after, O'Connor's estate and longtime record label Chrysalis Records released a joint statement demanding that Trump cease using her music at his events. "It is no exaggeration to say that Sinéad would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone who she herself referred to as a 'biblical devil,'" it read. "As the guardians of her legacy, we demand that Donald Trump, and his associates desist from using her music immediately." O'Connor sadly passed away at the age of 56 in July 2023. Click through to meet the other musicians who have tried to stop Trump from using their songs.

Celebrities who have been in cults
Last year, 'One Tree Hill' alum Bethany Joy Lenz opened up about her experience living in a cult for 10 years on the 'Drama Queens' podcast. She told her former co-stars that she would write a book about her time in the undisclosed cult. The book, titled 'Dinner for Vampires,' is set to be released on October 22. “I was in a cult for 10 years,” she told Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan. “That would be a really valuable experience to write about, and the recovery—10 years of recovery after that. So there’s a lot to tell.” The actress didn't share further details but said that she writes about it privately. Though she has considered publishing a book, it's made difficult by “the pressure of getting it right and everything having to be exactly real and all the people that are involved." Lenz added, “Also, I don’t know how much I can say because there are still people and legal things in place that make it more complicated for the timing of that. But I do write. I write all the time.” Many Hollywood actors, comedians, singers, lawyers, and TV personalities have been involved in Scientology, Breatharianism, and other religious sects and communes, some of them even grew up in them.
