DIOR SCANDAL: FASHION HOUSE UNDER PROBE FOR PAYING $57 TO CREATE BAGS FOR $2,780

ALBAWABA – The French multinational luxury fashion house controlled and chaired by French businessman Bernard Arnault, Dior is accused for paying almost $57 to contractors to create the bags that retail for $2,780.

Investigations proved that the luxurious design house paid this hideous amount to producers for bags that were retailed for almost $3K. It is worth mentioning that the price does not include leather prices and raw materials, news outlets reported.

Dior under investigations

Authorities in Italy put Dior - a subsidiary of LVMH - under investigation for exploiting workers under bad work conditions and pressure to finish the luxury bags for the minimal possible payment.

Giorgio Armani might be facing the same investigation as a report showed that the company paid $99 for producing bags retailing for $1,900.

Appropriate measures and conditions should have been taken into consideration by the high-end fashion houses. Reports showed that the Chinese workers hired by the contractor’s company worked day and night to finish the bags on time.

The two fashion brands have been put under administration for one year in response to the investigations run by the Italian authorities.

It is worth mentioning that Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LVMH and the founder of Dior, is the third world’s richest person.
