BARGAIN HUNT STAR RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER SUFFERING HEART ATTACK MINUTES BEFORE BBC SHOW

John Cameron, a star of Bargain Hunt, has given fans a comforting update following his heart attack scare that occurred just minutes before he was set to film an episode of the favourite BBC daytime show.

The antiques expert is now recuperating at home with his puppy after the frightful health incident, expressing his gratitude to the NHS for their exceptional care during his ordeal.

John fell dreadfully ill a mere 10 minutes prior to starting filming for Bargain Hunt last week, and was urgently rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. There, he underwent emergency surgery which involved the fitting of a stent.

Taking to Instagram, John expressed his immense gratitude towards the NHS staff for their dedicated care. Alongside a hospital-bed picture of himself, the television star penned: "On a day when junior doctors stage a one-day strike over back pay, I would like to pledge my support and say a huge thank you to the St Mary's hospital drop-in centre."

He further extended his gratitude: "The paramedics 'Jess' and 'Cat' who transported me to Queen Alexandra Hospital with sirens blaring, and the amazing emergency team in theatre who fitted me with a stent unblocking the artery that caused me to have a heart attack just 10 minutes before I was about to film a BBC Bargain Hunt auction at my firm Nesbits in Southsea."

Expanding on the situation, he said: "Not sure how many of my 9 lives still remain but I definitely lost one yesterday. To quote the great ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius, 'we have two lives, the second one begins when you realise you only have one.'".

The TV star noted that he would be scaling back his activities saying, "I will now be switching to a more friendly and renewable light source over the candle I have been burning at both ends! Sorry also to my wife, children, grandchildren, staff and friends for scaring the 'Eartha Kitt' out of them. #SupportTheNHS,".

Following his time in hospital, John was able to return home where he is currently recovering. On Wednesday, an update for his fans included a photo of him alongside his adorable Border Terrier puppy, Poppy.

He was pictured wearing a T-shirt showcasing an ECG heartbeat symbol with the motto "the beat goes on".

Accompanying the photograph, he captioned: "Today I will be mostly playing with Polly the Puppy. #borderterrier #supportthenhs."

The comment section saw an influx of well wishes from John's admirers. One follower commented, "Hope you are feeling better and starting to heal," another added: "Get well soon John."

A kind fan messaged the television icon: "I hope you are feeling much better, take care of yourself".

John has since been discharged from hospital and is on the road to recovery.

The BBC star is an antiques expert on Bargain Hunt and also presented Cash In The Attic and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
