JO WHILEY THANKS MEDICS FOR HELPING HER GET THROUGH GLASTONBURY AFTER CONCERNING VIEWERS

Jo Whiley says she is “beyond grateful” to medics for helping her survive a “rollercoaster” year at Glastonbury.

The 58-year-old presenter - who has been presenting TV coverage of the infamous festival since 1997 - lost her voice mere hours after arriving at the iconic five-day event. Ever the professional, Jo continued to power through, despite BBC viewers raising concerns about the star’s health after she appeared to be struggling to speak while live on air.

On Monday, the legendary Glastonbury host opened up about what had happened behind the scenes. Taking to Instagram, Jo described her “rollercoaster” festival experience as she shared a stunning selection of snaps with her 329,000 followers.

In the carousel of snaps, the BBC icon was a vision in blue as she flashed her winning smile with her fellow presenters Clara Amfo and Jack Saunders, showing off her enviably long pins in a sparkly co-ord. In another photo, Jo emanated festival chic in a turquoise mini-dress as she posed alongside R&B star Corrine Bailey Rae.

Captioning the post, Jo wrote: “'Oh My!! Glastonbury 2024 was a bit of a rollercoaster. Such happiness to be there and to be bringing the festival to you all as part of the @bbcglasto team. Something I will never take for granted and I hope you enjoyed watching.”

The Radio DJ went on to update fans on her health, giving a special shoutout to a festival medic who “came to her rescue” on Sunday. She added: “Losing my voice two hours after arriving at Glastonbury was NOT what I expected and made things a *bit* tricky & I’m so grateful to everyone for the advice, remedies and honey & lemon. Special mention to Jim the festival medic who came to my rescue yesterday mid radio show!”

Describing coming home after the electric event, Jo shared a sweet family moment, writing: “Saw two of my kids for a quick squeeze which was heaven.” The mother-of-three was as relatable as ever when she added: “Not so much looking forward to the post-Glasto blues and laundry… anyone else??!!!”

Before signing off the post, Jo made sure to thank her “Glasto family”, gushing that she was “beyond grateful” for all their love, work and support.

Fans rushed to the comments to wish Jo a speedy recovery, adding that the festival would not be the same without her. One wrote: "I am sure won't be the only one to lose their voice during Glasto weekend. Glad all got sorted as coverage wouldn't have been the same without you," while another added: "Oh Jo you are a pure style Queen... hope the voice is recovering."
