SAM THOMPSON APPEARS GLUM AS HE'S SEEN AMID 'CRISIS TALKS' WITH ZARA MCDERMOTT
Sam Thompson looked less than impressed amid "crisis talks" with Zara McDermott.
The former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner was photographed leaving his London home on Monday, looking glum after his girlfriend 'packed her bags'. Pictures show the reality TV star appearing downcast as he walked to his nearby gym.
Wearing an all-grey tracksuit, the 31-year-old didn't appear to strike a smile after rumours about his relationship with Love Island contestant Zara. The couple were spotted putting on a united front over the weekend as they filmed together.
Sam was snapped in tears earlier this week at the TRIC Awards, just weeks after being photographed in what looked like a row with Zara. Sam was comforted by best pal Pete Wicks while in the smoking area at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Pete offered his Made In Chelsea star pal a pep talk as they spent 30 minutes together.
Zara reportedly packed up her bags last weekend following a heated row just days before the showbiz bash. The couple are said to be trying to patch things up after Sam was reportedly left distraught. It has been claimed the pair have had "little quality time" together due to their busy work schedules.
They started dating in 2019 and hit a rough patch when Zara admitted to cheating on Sam in 2020. "Last weekend it came to a head and they had a big row. It was very upsetting and they needed some time to let the dust settle," a source told The Sun.
"Zara had a work commitment in Majorca but has now returned home to be with Sam and try to iron out their differences and have crisis talks. They really want to try and make the relationship work," they added. Sam has now spoken about the TRIC Awards.
On the latest episode of Staying Relevant, Sam admitted that he had got some "really bad news" on the day, and was feeling "really sad" - but didn't want to miss the big event so decided to put on a brave face and go. Addressing the speculation, Sam explained: "Firstly, there's no way of getting around it, I had actually received some bad news, so I actually was really sad, I'm not going to lie about it, but I was."
"I wasn't crying though, I wasn't actually crying. I just want to let everyone know that now," he added. "There was a paparazzi shot which said 'Sam Thompson crying after THAT argument with girlfriend Zara', after the Soccer Aid thing. They linked both of them together. There's a few things here, I was really sad, and Pete being my best mate, he took me outside and the beauty of it was that Pete said we can't go out the front because there were a lot of paps there. So, we went through the back. I let it go, I let it all out. I'm literally head-butting Pete's shoulder - I'm literally caressed into his armpit.
"He's being such a good mate and saying he's always there for me and I'm feeling really sorry for myself. I thought, 'at least nobody is going to see this', but little did I know that later that day the pictures were everywhere." Sam appeared to be locked in a heated row on the street with Zara earlier this month, after he represented England at Soccer Aid.
Zara quickly decided to set the record straight regarding the 'argument' the next morning to shut down any speculation of trouble in paradise. "Why did this make me laugh so much btw," the reality TV star wrote. "'Stop saying you should have scored!!!! You did your best and that's all that matters!!!! You need to stop doubting yourself!!!
"It looks like we are having an argument but I'm actually telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner! [laughing-face emojis]." On Sam's page, he explained: "I think it's time to quash the elephant in the room. It's huge. We need to quash these rumours now before they get started... It looks I've cheated on her, it's that bad."
