DAVID BECKHAM'S MUM JOKED ABOUT 'BOTTLING' PIERS MORGAN OVER 'MEAN' SON COMMENTS

David Beckham’s mum joked about how she wanted to “bottle” Piers Morgan over his “mean” jibes about her son, it’s claimed.

Becks’ mother Sandra reportedly said to a journalist how she “hated” the former GMB star’s acerbic comments about her boy. After being offered a glass of champagne at an awards bash by the writer, she allegedly said: “Give me that bottle…there’s that Piers Morgan, I could quite happily bottle him. He’s been so mean about my David. I hate it.”

The journalist recalled that she thought she was “joking” during the incident, which took place “a couple of years ago”. Morgan has spoken out against the Beckhams repeatedly in the past including how David does not deserve to be knighted for his services to football. He previously accused David and Victoria of ‘pimping out' their youngest son Cruz by allowing him to release his first single aged 11.

Sandra also reportedly opened up to The Sun about how she was left “exhausted” by watching her son being mobbed by the public all the time. “Everywhere we go people want a selfie with David,” she sighed. “I don’t know how he copes with it the way he does, he says yes to everyone, and always with a smile on his face. But he can’t really go out on his own any more. It’s exhausting to watch.”

The emergence of the alleged comments come as the couple celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. However the occasion was overshadowed by an explosive new book which claimed how the couple lived separate lives as their marriage hit crisis point.

According to author Tom Bower, the couple were allegedly so estranged they barely spoke and instead just maintained a "distant business relationship". Their animosity was so bad in 2016 that each of their publicists "fed negative stories" about the other, Bower claims. Beckham even allegedly accused his wife of "waging a media war" against him.

But the pair ultimately stayed together and worked through their issues, just as they had after their marriage was rocked the first time by Rebecca Loos' claims of a 2003 affair with the footballer. "Although the Beckhams could not hide their separate lives, they stuck together to support the brand," Bower claims. His book, The House of Beckham, painted a vastly different picture to that of the Netflix documentary, which was exec-produced by David's production house.

While the Beckhams alluded to the marriage problems in the wake of Loos' allegations, more recent woes were ignored. Serious cracks in the marriage began appearing in 2016 when the couple started spending increasing amounts of time apart, with David in Miami and Posh in London. Bower writes: "During London Fashion Week that year, she asked Beckham to return to London for a dinner in her Dover Street shop. By the end of the celebration she must have wished he had stayed in America. Morosely, he sat staring at her guests. Some whispered that the two had been embroiled earlier in a foul-mouthed row." Beckham has always denied Loos' allegations.
