BTS JIMIN'S PRE-RELEASE SINGLE SMERALDO GARDEN MARCHING BAND IS A BEAUTIFUL CONFESSION OF LOVE | WATCH

On Friday, BTS Jimin released his new single, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. This song also features rapper Loco and offers a sneak peek into Jimin's upcoming solo album, MUSE, which is set to drop on July 19. Global sensation BTS continues to thrive even as members fulfil their military service duties. Following RM’s second solo album and Jungkook’s chart-topping single, Never Let Go, Jimin has unveiled his latest track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. This single is part of his second solo album, MUSE.

The term 'smeraldo' refers to a fictional flower in the BTS Universe, representing "the truth untold." BigHit Music described the song as a tender expression of the longing to confess love on behalf of those who struggle to articulate their feelings. The song's title pays homage to Jimin’s long-time co-producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who have branded themselves as the 'Smeraldo Marching Band' during the production of Jimin’s first solo effort, symbolizing their teamwork and unified movement.

Unlike the intense vibe of Jimin’s previous single Set Me Free Pt.2, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band is brighter and cheerier, featuring a lively brass ensemble. The lyrics, “I’ll come closer to you, I love you, babe/ I want you, babe/ I wanna hold your hand,” showcase Jimin’s heartfelt sentiments.

Even though Jimin and his bandmates RM, SUGA, V and Jungkook are still serving in the military, BTS' eldest member, Jin, has completed his service and returned to civilian life. Jhope is scheduled to finish his military duty this October.

The track is inspired by The Beatles' iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, blending hip-hop beats with a brassy marching band sound. Jimin collaborated with renowned producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, EVAN and Tommy Brown, known for his work with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd. The song delves into themes of longing and unspoken love, connecting to the 'Smeraldo' legend previously mentioned in BTS’ The Truth Untold featuring Steve Aoki from their LOVE YOURSELF 'Tear' album.

The accompanying music video, available on HYBE LABELS’ YouTube channel, opens with a serene landscape before focusing on Jimin. He performs as the lead vocalist, with producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN as the band’s musicians and a special appearance by Loco. The video’s nostalgic, vintage feel is enhanced by cinematic opening credits and a faded, grainy texture, showcasing Jimin’s smooth dance moves and versatile voice.

MUSE, Jimin’s highly anticipated second solo album, will feature interconnected tracks revolving around the theme of love. The album’s tracklist includes Rebirth, Interlude: Showtime, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band featuring Loco, Slow Dance featuring Sofia Carson, Be Mine, Who and the already released track Closer Than This.
